1 A descendant of Zerubbabel and in the lineage of the kings of Judah through David (1Chr 3:23). 2 The son of Azel and descendant of Saul’s son Jonathan (1Chr 8:38). 3 A Levite, the grandfather of Shemaiah, a resident of postexilic Jerusalem (1Chr 9:14). 4 The overseer of the royal household of King Ahaz of Judah; he was assassinated along with the king’s son and his chief of state by Zichri in conjunction with a coordinated attack against Judah by King Pekah of the Northern Kingdom, Israel, and Rezin, king of Syria (2Chr 28:7).
